Depressed Stray Cat with Severe Skin Infection Undergoes Incredible Transformation

I’ve rescued many cats over the years while volunteering at a shelter; some of my own cats are also rescues! However, I’ve never nursed a cat back to life like this vet did, or like my colleague Jeffery did. Jeffery and his wife rescued three little kittens off the street, just like this vet who rescued a poor cat that later found herself a forever home.

Mukki and René: Forever Friends

Before Mukki was named Mukki and before she went home with René, she was saved and nursed back to health by a kind-hearted vet.

One day, the vet heard loud meows while on her way to work. Following the sound, she discovered a poor, sick cat in desperate need of help. It was clear the cat had a severe skin condition affecting her overall health. She moved slowly and meowed in pain.

Fortunately, the woman who found her worked for the Soi Dog Foundation, an organization that rescues abandoned cats and dogs. They struggled to get the cat to eat or drink, and she was severely dehydrated and depressed.

The Path to Recovery

The vets named her Rose and provided all the care and attention she needed. They cleaned her ears, administered medication and antibiotics, and shaved off her fur to help her heal completely.

After this treatment, her appetite returned to normal, and she responded well to therapy. From the sick and poor-looking cat she was, Rose transformed into a healthier and happier feline. She became more cheerful, turning into a cuddly, affectionate cat who began to trust the veterinary staff as she realized how much they had helped her.

A New Beginning

Rose fully recovered in about two months and looked like a totally different cat. With her recovery came her forever friend and owner.

René Carnieletto adopted her and renamed her Mukki. He fell in love with her and found her adorable. René explains how she always naps beneath his legs and meows loudly when she sees him come back home.

Mukki loves cuddling and enjoys the company of her new, forever friend. The veterinary staff who nursed her back to life couldn’t be happier for her.

They always hoped she would find a forever home, and that’s exactly what happened.
